Position Summary
The Administrator is responsible for the day to day coordination and oversight of the Center in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern long term care facilities to assure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to the patients and residents at all times.
This job will have the following responsibilities:
Maintain current written policies and procedures that govern the operations of the facility.
Assist department directors in the development and implementation of performance evaluations.
Interpret the Center's policies and procedures to employees, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, etc. as necessary.
Ensure that all employees, residents, visitors, and the general public follow established policies and procedures.
Assume the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability of directing the services and programs at the facility.
Represent the facility in dealing with outside agencies, including governmental agencies and third party payers, or provide an authorized representative of the facility when unable to attend such meetings.
Schedule, assist, and/or participates in all meetings, including; Quality Improvement Committee meetings, Utilization Review meetings, Infection Control Meetings, Risk Management Meetings, etc.
Make routine inspections of the facility to assure that established policies and procedures are being implemented and followed.
Participate in facility surveys/inspections made by authorized government agencies.
Assist with the review and ensure proper submission of a plan of correction for deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provide a written copy of such plan to the appropriate governing agency and/or corporate staff for review.
Qualifications & Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in Public Health Administration or Business Administration, or a health related degree is preferred.
Must have a minimum of five years experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital or long term care facility.
Possess a current, unencumbered Nursing Home Administrator's license or meet the reciprocity licensure requirements in the employed State.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
Must be knowledgeable of reimbursement regulations and nursing policies and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long term/sub-acute care administration.
Must possess the ability to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
