We are seeking a full-time Aviation Systems Engineer 2 for TeamX in our Olathe, KS location. TeamX is a group of passionate pilots and aviation enthusiasts. In this role, you will assist in furthering our mission or bringing disruptive technology to the Experimental/Amateur-Build, Light-Sport, and Part 23 aviation markets by supporting the successful conception, development, and/or application of sophisticated avionics systems.
Essential Functions
Defines and maintains system architectures and requirements
Establishes product-specific execution plans for system-level aspects compatible with Garmin processes, including discussions with external customers - individuals and companies
Identifies and documents technical scope of change in support of small changes to already supported functionality or interfaces
Identifies and resolves defects using proper engineering tools and techniques
Plans and executes integration testing to validate user experience and verify system requirements
Provides technical content for system design and description documentation
Proactively improves processes, tools, and procedures
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Math, Physics, or related field AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0)
Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving ability
Experience with Systems Integration activities
Demonstrates strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
Previous work experience with consumer or aviation products
