Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Cook in the Carlson Recovery Centerprogram at Behavioral Health Network!
Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the Carlson Recovery Center program with the following:
Meal planning and preparation for large volume of residents.
Work within nutritional, religious or allergen specific guidelines.
Clean and sanitize food preparation environment within set guidelines.
Assist in management of a food budget.
Transport food to other sites, as needed on campus or offsite.
Maintain a ServSafe certification, or willingness to receive and maintain certification.
Adhering to kitchen compliance standards set by the Department of Public Health.
Adhere to healthcare standards around privacy/HIPAA with residents served.
Who are we?
The Carlson Recovery Center in Springfield, MA is a 36-bed Acute Treatment Services program that serves those 18 years of age and older who are suffering from drug and alcohol addiction and are at the beginning stages of their recovery. A 24-hour multidisciplinary team provides acute treatment and detoxification services.

What are we looking for in a Cook?
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent (required).
ServSafe certification (required).
Food preparation experience in a program (preferred).
Experience with using knives to prepare food.
Experience with kitchen preparation, line work, & large volume cooking.
Valid Driver's License (preferred).
Vehicle for use during all working hours should be registered and inspected in accordance with 540 CMR 4.00 (preferred).
Commitment to client empowerment and growth, human rights, and community integration.
Familiarity with internet, word processing and email systems (required).
