The Educational Leadership program emphasizes current theory and research to inform educational leaders as they make decisions regarding positive school culture, effective teaching practices, and student achievement. We offer master's and doctoral degrees as well as principal and superintendent certification. Courses are presented in in-person and online formats.


UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. Position Overview


A Principal Lecturer is a professional faculty member possessing the necessary academic credentials to teach assigned graduate-level courses in Educational Leadership, with a primary focus on teaching and service responsibilities with no research-associated tasks. The candidate will advise both master's and doctoral students. The individual may supervise students in the practicum courses and work on various aspects of the Texas Examination of Educator Standards (TExES) and Principals Assessment for School Leaders (PASL) for the department.



Minimum Qualifications


Qualified candidates will have a doctoral degree related to school leadership and leadership experience working with principals and central office administrators in school districts.



Preferred Qualifications


Preference will be given to those who have


(a) taught educational leadership courses at the master's and doctoral degree level


(b)experience with the Texas Examination of Educator Standards (TExES) and Principals Assessment for School Leaders (PASL) and (c) have extensive experience working with district administration.


The candidate will have experience developing and teaching courses in on-line programs.


The candidate will have experience in working with doctoral dissertations.



Required License/Registration/Certifications


Teaching certification (in any state) and mid-management administration certification (in any state) are required. Superintendent (preferred).
