Job Description SummaryAssists in providing leadership and oversight of Auxiliary Services provided by third-party providers. Ensures the effective and efficient delivery of services by external service providers to our campus community in the areas of Dining Services, University Stores, and other providers as necessary. Arrange collaborative strategic and operational oversight related to interfaces with university partners.
Job Description



Essential Functions:




  • Assist with the strategic planning and direction for future partnerships in Dining and Stores and other external vendors as needed.




  • Serves as the primary point of contact for external service providers.




  • Leads interdepartmental collaborations, especially facilities and campus services to ensure care of operational equipment and facilities to minimize downtime or closure.




  • Assists in monitoring budgets.




  • Prepares goals and objectives for each area under the direction of the Vice President of Hospitality and Auxiliary Services.




  • Assists with the administrative oversight of contract terms and agreements.




  • Coordinates with campus leadership in recommending capital projects.




  • Coordinates with the University events office to support special events.




  • Works closely with the University community - faculty, staff, students, and visitors - to be responsive to changing access needs and demands.




  • Helps lead efforts to deliver sustainable initiatives for areas of oversight in partnership with the Office of Sustainability.




  • Provides routine oversight and direction to external service providers.




  • Leads meal plan competitive pricing and recommendations for tuition and fee adjustments.




  • Ensures third-party providers comply with local regulations and standards such as Department of Health, safety, and compliance.




  • Participates in the meal plan appeals process and adjudicates appeals in collaboration with other committee members.




  • Is considered an essential employee as designated in the University's Severe Weather Policy.




  • Represents Hospitality and Auxiliary Services as a member of the Incident Management Team (IMT).




  • Is subject to recall after hours in the event of campus emergencies, disasters, or other special needs as directed by management.




  • Performs other related duties as assigned.







Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:




  • Bachelor's degree in management or 3 years of relevant experience in university auxiliary services leadership with knowledge of internal operations.




  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.




  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including customer service skills.




  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues to advance the mission of the greater university.




  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language sufficient to perform the duties of the position.




  • Ability to make independent decisions.




  • Ability to resolve conflicts among guests and/or employees.




  • Ability to interact with guests positively and tactfully.




  • Proficiency in MS Office, Word, and Windows.




  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.




  • Ability to work any schedule/shift.




  • Ability to drive and operate golf carts and other vehicles.




  • Valid driver's license with good driving record; must be insurable.







Accountabilities:




  • Supervises, trains, and provides work direction and problem-solving skills.




  • Provides input on budget development and ensures budget is adhered to for all departments under supervision.




  • Ensure compliance with contract terms both by Wake Forest and by external service providers.







Physical Requirements:




  • Constantly moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.




  • Constantly communicating with others to exchange information.




  • Constantly assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.




  • Occasional light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.




  • Occasional medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds.
