As the Senior Director of Patient Services, you will lead the strategic delivery of AstraZeneca's digital patient care initiatives, including our disease management platform, with a focus on improving patient outcomes through remote patient monitoring (RPM) and patient support programs (PSP). You will play a pivotal role in positioning AstraZeneca as a leader in patient experience across multiple therapeutic areas and geographies.


What you'll do:



  • Strategic Leadership in Patient Services: Deliver and evolve AstraZeneca's company strategy for RPM and PSPs, ensuring innovative patient engagement and support initiatives.



  • Strengthening Strategic Partnerships: Reinforce partnerships with key internal & external collaborators like Evinova and Huma, especially for leading complex therapies, including antibody-drug conjugates (ADC), cellular therapies, and radio conjugates. These advanced modalities will require new critical thinking and enhanced care management pathways, particularly in managing side effects.



  • Integration of Digital Health Ecosystem: Establish and maintain a robust partnership framework with digital health partners, driving successful collaborations and ensuring alignment between AstraZeneca and its external partners. This includes leading all aspects of strategic priorities across multimodal digital health solutions.


  • Innovative Data Strategy: Collaborate closely with both external partners and internal teams (commercial, medical, and R&D) to optimize data strategies, enabling AstraZeneca to capitalize on emerging technologies. Leverage these partnerships to expand the disease management platform across different therapeutic areas.



  • Expansion of Patient Support Programs - CONNECT360: Develop and deploy frameworks to scale patient services across Oncology and Biopharma Units (BBU & OBU). Ensure that patient services evolve in line with innovative treatment modalities such as cellular therapies (CAR-T) and other novel treatment options.



  • Efficacy Measurement and Outcome Optimization: Lead the development of metrics and methodologies to measure the impact of RPM, PSP, integrated in the overall digital health solutions. Work with analytics teams to define and implement effective performance metrics that can demonstrate project efficacy and impact on patient outcomes (ie DOT).



  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work hand to hand with the Digital Care Pathway Optimization (DCPO) leadership team members to ensure seamless collaboration and integration of patient services within the broader digital health strategy. This includes close coordination with teams focused on AI, multimodal projects, and partnerships to deliver patient-centric solutions.



  • Operational Excellence: Drive operational efficiency and ensure strategic alignment across global and regional teams. Lead efforts to implement platform solutions in health systems, and work on scaling initiatives across key markets and therapeutic areas.





Essential Skills/Experience



  • Proven experience in digital healthcare solutions, with a specific focus on patient engagement and support.


  • Strong leadership experience in managing partnerships with external digital health companies.


  • Demonstrated ability to scale healthcare solutions across multiple geographies and therapeutic areas.


  • Experience working within the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in bringing innovative digital solutions to life.


  • Strong analytical skills and experience in measuring the impact of digital health projects.


  • Ability to navigate complex, multi-functional teams and drive large-scale change within a global organization.


  • Highly effective communication and influencing skills across multiple levels and geographies.


  • Advanced science/life sciences degree and/or MBA/business qualification, with 10 years related experience.

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $220,870.40 to $331,305.60, either as annual base pay or as the hourly rate (annual base pay divided by 2080 hours)]. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
