Job Summary:
The regional sales manager is responsible for leading a team of sales employees who drive product sales to new and/or existing customers. Manages and coaches' sales employees in account management, business development, and territory management using BD's sales processes and tools.
Major Job Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, coach, mentor, support and develop a team of 8 sales representatives
Over-achieve sales plan in all measures and lead direct team to do the same
Proactively identifies talent internally and externally, including participation in succession planning process for job family
Responsible for the management of the sales pipeline and monthly forecasting of the business
Encourages subordinates to strive for operational excellence by continually challenging old methods or ways of thinking and taking responsible risks to maximize results; serves as a role model in innovative thinking and in focusing on quality within work
Assists in the definition of strategic plans for own work team/job family or key product(s)/service(s)
Responsible for presenting monthly business updates to the business units executive
Works collaboratively with internal/external groups to achieve business results, coaches' others in the dynamics of effective teamwork
Cascades organizational goals through the function/work area to the individual level and ensures individuals understand how they can contribute
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree Required
3-6 Years of Health Care Experience preferred
Minimum 2 years of outside sales experience with proven track record preferred
Ability to travel 30% of the time
Strong Process, Planning, Forecasting, and Negotiation Skills Required
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be willing to relocate/reside in the Chicago-land area
Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued license driver's license with 3 years of consecutive driving history and meet BD's auto safety standards'.
