Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Mobility team in Selma, CA to work on the California High Speed Rail project. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily and expeditiously.

Accountabilities:

The Civil Engineer in this role will have a diverse set of responsibilities. This includes leveraging expertise in infrastructure design, such as civil and drainage systems, for evaluating Contractor Change Orders and compiling detailed Findings of Facts and Records of Negotiation. You will collaborate with the Change Orders team to assess change orders and claims, prepare independent estimates for change proposals and new directives, and advocate for fair adjustments. Your role will also involve supporting quantitative risk analysis, cost forecasting, and estimating tasks when necessary. Furthermore, you will contribute to crafting position papers and finding of fact documents aligned with the Contract agreement terms. It's crucial to grasp the Design Build delivery method in use and ensure coordinated responses in accordance with the Contract terms and conditions.

Qualifications & Experience:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum 4 years of experience in civil infrastructure projects.
  • BS degree in Civil Engineering
  • Experience in the civil design of infrastructure projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior railway experience preferred, but not required
  • Experience with Design Build contract delivery method preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of estimating software HCSS preferable

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must have experience in the civil design of infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings
  • Ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several assignments

The salary range for this position is $76,500 - $114,750 Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
