We are seeking a highly skilled System Engineer with deep expertise in a variety of Linux distributions, including CentOS and Oracle Linux. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in system deployment, configuration, performance tuning, and hardware management. You will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our Linux-based infrastructure, ensuring high performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Linux System Administration:
o Expert-level administration of CentOS, Oracle Linux, and other Linux distributions.
o Configure, deploy, and manage systems via PXE booting and other network-based methods.
o Automate repetitive tasks using shell scripting, or other automation tools.
• System Performance & Tuning:
o Monitor and analyze system performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing tuning strategies.
o Perform regular system health checks, kernel tuning, and configuration optimizations for performance.
• Rack and Stack:
o Physically rack, stack, and cable servers, network devices, and related hardware in the datacenter.
o Ensure proper cabling and network configuration for efficient system communication.
• OS & Application Configuration:
o Install, configure, and maintain OS-level applications and services.
o Troubleshoot and resolve application and system-related issues.
o Provide support for enterprise applications running on Linux environments.
• Infrastructure Management:
o Work with IT and infrastructure teams to deploy new servers, storage, and networking equipment.
o Maintain hardware inventory and ensure optimal usage of physical resources.
• Security & Compliance:
o Implement and manage security measures such as firewalls, SELinux, and regular patching.
o Ensure systems meet security and compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
• Education & Experience:
o Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
o 5+ years of experience in Linux system administration, preferably with CentOS and Oracle Linux.
• Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in Linux boot processes, including PXE booting.
o Strong knowledge of system performance tuning techniques, kernel configurations, and system health monitoring.
o Experience with virtualization platforms (KVM, VMware) and cloud-based systems.
o Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and hardware troubleshooting.
o Hands-on experience with hardware, including server rack and stack operations.
o Strong understanding of OS-level application support and configuration.
