Job Description:

Maintain tool room inventory, distribution, stocking and ordering of parts, consumables and tools. Perform total preventive maintenance of shop tools and machinery.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Store parts, consumables and tools in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.

  • Pack and unpack items, consumables and tools to be stocked on shelves in tool room, stockrooms, warehouse, etc.

  • Dispose of damaged, defective or expired items, parts, consumables and tools, or return them to vendors, per Company’s policy.

  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations and AS9110 requirements.

  • Receive and count aircraft parts and consumables, record data manually or by using computer.

  • Examine and inspect tools for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.

  • Mark stock items and tools using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.

  • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.

  • Keep records on the use and/or damage of tools or stock handling equipment.

  • Establish and manage stock levels for tooling and consumables and ensure proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.

  • Recommend disposal of excess, defective, or obsolete tools and consumable stock.

  • Issue or distribute materials, products, parts, tools and supplies to customers or coworkers, based on information from incoming requisitions.

  • Purchase new or additional tools, consumables and stock, or prepare documents that provide for such purchases.

  • Services and maintains all tooling and machinery per the TPM schedules established.

  • Maintains work areas and tools in a clean and organized manner, practices proper tool and FOD control.



  • Performs work safely and utilizes the appropriate technical data for the assigned task.

  • Monitors and supports continuous improvement activities by utilizing Lean and continuous improvement tools striving to identify and eliminate waste in all its forms in an effort to improve quality and safety, decrease lead time and reduce cost.

  • Other duties as assigned.


 


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE



  • High school diploma or equivalent required; further education or technical training is preferred

  • 0-3 years’ of tool room or like experience and a strong aptitude for acquiring new skills and knowledge is preferred

  • Training and experience utilizing Lean methods in a production environment preferred

  • Ability to locate, read and follow the data appropriate for the assigned task

  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment and hand tools appropriate to the assigned tasks

  • Ability to work overtime and/or weekends as assigned dependent on production needs

  • Ability to work in a shop environment or work outdoors locally or in remote locations as needed for customer support

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment

  • Conduct oneself in accordance with Company’s Core Values
