This hourly role follows the Scotts/Hawthorne step pay progression scale and typically starts at $25.15 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.


We are looking for Warehouse
Group Leader who will grow at our Central Ohio Distribution Center in Marysville, Ohio.


The Warehouse Group Leader is responsible for all aspects of their position as well as working with other departments to promote a safe, productive environment as it pertains to the Distribution Center. This individual should be self-motivated leader who will help set expectations for their warehouse team and be responsible for their results. This individual will help lead one of several operations teams contributing to the success of the distribution center operations. The Warehouse Group Leader will be responsible for a team executing operations positioned under the Inbound or Outbound departments and will be accountable to a department supervisor.



What you'll do in this role:



  • Hold daily shift team meetings to present volume, plans, expectations, company messaging, etc

  • Ensure each team member has assignments and validates quality of work based on available volume

  • Maintain through leadership and organization the safety and cleanliness of their workspace

  • Prepare all necessary paperwork as is relates to creating orders; specifically, i.e., BOL, picking tickets, master BOL, export documents, supply vs demand reports, return to vendor

  • Coordinate special orders for on time arrival

  • Train and enforce operating SOP's/procedures abided by as well as mentor associates

  • Report any inbound material shortages or discrepancies to internal stakeholders and shipping sites

  • Ensure a safe and organized work area

  • Work with vendors to clean up material quality issues

  • Communicate daily to team

  • Utilize SAP to monitor daily execution, inventory and quality; make adjustments when required

  • Work with onsite third-party transportation companies, where applicable

  • All other duties as required




What you'll need to be successful:



  • High School Diploma or Equivalent


  • Bachelors degree preferred, but not required






  • 5+ years of Inventory management experience, or Warehouse experience


  • 2+ Years of leading a team


  • Strong attention to details


  • Ability to work well with other associates (teamwork)


  • Ability to work independently, handle adverse situations and problem solve


  • Effective communication and time management skills


  • Strong administrative and planning skills


  • Maintain high standard of confidentiality and integrity


  • Ability to adapt to flexible work schedule/hours including overtime and weekends.


  • High understanding of inventory control.


  • Position entails prolonged and repetitive motion of standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending, climbing, reaching overhead and arms/hands dexterity


  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.


  • Able to operate scissor lift, up to 45ft high
