Team Lead Position Summary
The Team Lead operates as the frontline leader of an assigned area and shift and is responsible for the safety and leadership of production employees. The Team Leader is also accountable for ensuring that production initiatives are executed in an accurate, compliant, and timely fashion.
Shifts Available:
1st shift: 6:30am-3:00pm Mon-Fri
Responsibilities
Team Lead Duties and Responsibilities
Assign tasks to Set-Up Technicians, Material Handlers, and Production Employees
Provide a safe work environment and ensures adherence to all safety policies
Communicate and enforces all safety processes and procedures
Investigate and reports all safety related incidents
Drive employee engagement in safety through the safety program
Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to full time and temporary employees
Audit performance, ensuring quality and compliance of the manufactured product
Lead process adherence: run rates, recipe, technique, and equipment
Identify and report incapable processes: recipe, equipment, and documentation
Understand and meets assigned metrics and key process indicators
Execute against daily production schedule
Lead inter-shift communication and Gemba activities
Participate in the Tiered Management System (Policy Deployment)
Manage team performance and provides solutions
Drive full employee participation in the Operational Excellence Program (Common Cent$) for the assigned area and shift
Coordinate with counterparts and supervisors to drive change and improvements for area
Assist team members with identification, work through, and completion of Common Cent$
Support, drives, and improves workplace organization (5S)
Qualifications
Team Lead Requirements
High School Diploma
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Basic knowledge of injection molding presses, manufacturing equipment and automation
Strong communication skills
Ability to read, comprehend, follow and document work instructions, standard operating procedures, and training documents
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Basic knowledge of math for manufacturing
Experience with ERP/MRP business systems
Strong problem-solving skills
Attention to detail
Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks
Ability to take direction from the production supervisor
Ability to collaborate and assist team managers, peers and subordinates
Team Lead Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Two-year Technical Degree or Associates Degree
Injection mold set-up or process technician experience
Leadership experience
3+ years of manufacturing experience
IQMS software
Ability to read blueprints and understand basic tolerances
