This position needs to be filled with an experienced person as soon as possible. The right candidate needs to learn quickly and be able to think on his/her feet. We're seeking someone who is looking for a long-term role.
QUALIFICATIONS 5+ years experience involving lab microbiology analysis, culture growth, and routine QA/QC work in addition to microbiology related technical problems and R&D. Knowledge of general-purpose laboratory instruments that include scales, moisture, and water activity-measuring units.
B.S. degree in Microbiology with some supervising experience is preferred.
JOB SUMMARY
Monitor shipping processes, production line and lab analyses of all in-process and finished products including raw materials. Develop and implement SOP procedures to meet drug Good Manufacturing Practices compliance including training and checking that employees are following SOPs. Keep track of stability of all products. Ensure collection and forwarding of samples to proper lab for analysis. Monitor ordering, sampling, and inventory of raw materials. Prepare and issue lab reports and SOP papers including validations, management of change, and investigations. Review and close-out customer complaints including adverse events and publish quarterly trend reports. Responsible for ordering and maintaining laboratory inventories.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Monitoring of shipping process and production lines with primary attention to production.
Analyze raw materials and intermediate products at different stages of production including finished products and products from shelf. Also includes preparing and logging samples for outside labs and helping to coordinate special tests, as needed, with outside laboratories.
Responsible for maintaining up to date stability charts of finished products.
Run lab analysis (Finished product samples, in-process samples, Stability Samples).
Initiate and complete all test records that are associated with products for any stage of process.
Responsible for maintaining proper inventory of lab supplies and equipment/instruments in working condition. Prepare laboratory purchase orders, receive supplies, and review invoices.
Get involved in technical solutions to production and lab analysis problems.
Get involved in R&D work as required leading to new methods and new product development as necessary. Stay up to date with the latest microbiological techniques available and developed.
Perform investigation, deviation, and out of spec reviews including final write-up of reports, including management of change papers.
Coordinate with outside labs for various tests including purity and identification.
Maintain stock of primary and working cultures for production use.

Remain active in microscopic observation, flask inoculation and preparation, quarterly physical inventory, and water testing.
Responsible for Drug GMP and applicable SOP procedures in the plant.
