Voyatek is seeking applicants to occupy the position of NG911 - IT Security Engineer within our NYC Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications team located in Brooklyn, NY.




Key Responsibilities:



The NYC Office of Technology and Innovation has been tasked with recruiting a Specialist 3, IT SEC - IT Security Engineer.


  • Manage security architecture and engineering integration for NG911 system.

  • Perform cyber security and technical threat analysis for NG911 System.

  • Evaluate security protocols for intrusion prevention using NIST 800-53 framework.

  • Ensure security regulations and standards are being applied in the network system.

  • Implement solutions for DNS, Email, remote access configuration, integration, performance monitoring, and security management on the Next Generation firewall 9-1-1 platforms.

  • Implementation of Next Generation firewall platforms, host operating systems, applications such as LDAP and SMTP.




Mandatory Qualifications:



  • Demonstrate a sound understanding in the implementation of cybersecurity trends, security methodologies, and OSI model; TCP/IP stack.

  • Experience designing secure networks, systems and applications with a focus on security, performance and reliability.

  • Experience planning, researching and developing security policies, standards and procedures.

  • Experience working with Windows and Linux operating systems.

  • Minimum 12 yrs. experience in a technical and/or business application, product, platform, or methodology.




Desired Qualifications:



  • Cybersecurity experience in a PSAC/PSAP environment working on NG911 systems

  • One or more relevant information security and/or networking certifications such as: CISSP, Security+, Network+, CCNA, PCNSE

  • Professional experience in a system administration role supporting multiple platforms and applications.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions.
