Department Summary
The Department of Kinesiology, Health Promotion and Recreation (KHPR) is expanding its faculty to support a new STEM PhD degree in Human Performance and Movement Science, while it continues its long history of serving over 1,300 undergraduate and graduate students. Students and faculty in kinesiology focus in the areas of exercise physiology, physical activity behaviors, and sport/exercise psychology. Extensive and well-equipped research laboratories and other dedicated spaces support specializations in these three broad areas. A recent KHPR video highlights the capabilities of our laboratories and spaces for collaborative research.
UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.
