Responsibilities:
Develop advanced signal and image processing algorithms for missile systems, focusing on target detection, identification, and system performance in complex environments.
Design algorithms for signal and image processing, including target detection, automatic recognition, scene generation, and hyperspectral image techniques.
Develop models, simulations, and system-level performance evaluations under various environmental conditions.
Verify system and subsystem requirements through modeling and testing.
Present technical material to both internal leadership and external customers.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers and subject matter experts to advance algorithm development.
Work towards becoming a subject matter expert in algorithm development for missile products.
Qualifications:
Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
Experience: 5-8 years of experience developing and analyzing signal and image processing algorithms.
Programming Languages: Proficiency in C++, MATLAB, or Python, with experience in Linux environments.
Desired Skills:
Experience deploying real-time algorithms in embedded systems and meeting performance requirements.
Knowledge of AI/ML techniques for algorithm development.
Strong background in mathematics (Kalman filtering, state estimation, linear algebra, probability, statistics, and multivariate calculus).
Expertise with electro-optical/infrared (EOIR) technology, including optics, radiometry, and clutter rejection techniques.
Proficiency in modeling and simulation of EOIR systems.
Familiarity with navigation and inertial tracking algorithms.
Experience using linear algebra software packages.
