Scope of Work:



Reporting to the Manager, Sustainability, the Lead Analyst, Sustainability will work in a demanding and high-profile organization responsible for working across the business to drive strategies and programs that support Avangrid's ESG+F strategy and positions Avangrid as the leading sustainable energy company in the US.


In this role, you will work as part of the Sustainability team to support sustainability reporting initiatives and drive accountability and coordination for those activities across a matrixed organization which includes coordination across the Corporate, Networks and Renewables businesses as well as parent company representatives (Iberdrola S.A.) headquartered in Madrid, Spain.


The role will support the implementation of continual process improvements to adapt, improve and mature our non-financial data reporting to support ESG reporting and communications.


Primary area of responsibility will include supporting activities across the business related to sustainability including reporting and analysis of the company's progress on ESG+F goals and managing the day-to-day coordination of the non-financial information (NFI) reporting data collection process. The role will help ensure that the NFI data is efficiently and accurately captured and managed, including clear communication with internal data owners. The Lead Analyst will also support the data collection, coordination, and completion of key ESG surveys and ratings, and non-financial reporting frameworks (including GRI, SASB, EEI-AGA standards).


Sustainability is an evolving area. New regulation and global and US initiatives will drive new programs and requirements. The Lead Analyst will also work, as part of the Sustainability team, to support coordination and implementation of the new and emerging initiatives.



MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:



  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on Sustainability program development and implementation.

  • Build relationships and connections across businesses to promote and coordinate sustainability within the company.

  • Manage the day-to-day non- financial indicator data collection and reporting including internal stakeholder communications, process improvements, and incorporation of changing requirements.

  • Support sustainability reporting requirements and data collection with global Iberdrola Group.

  • Support data collection and coordination for key sustainability indices including the S&P Global / CSA, CDP disclosure program, FFTSE4good.

  • Support and deliver special projects (examples: Biodiversity, Circular Economy) in the Sustainability areas.




JOB REQUIREMENTS:



Education & Experience Required:


  • Proven experience in ESG program management and reporting.

  • Proven leadership skills. Project management experience.

  • Bachelors' Degree required with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience preferred and minimum 1 year's industry experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • Detail oriented and demonstrated success in implementing similar projects including data collection and reporting experience.

  • Experience working across organizations including in a highly matrixed organization managing multiple stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

  • Establishes credibility throughout the organization as a strong collaborator.

  • Bilingual capability preferred, fluency in Spanish and English in both written and verbal communication desired.

  • Ability to multi-task, quickly prioritize projects, and work well under pressure and tight deadlines.

  • Comfortable working in rapidly changing, ambiguous environment.

  • Collaborative and flexible style, with an approach to work that motivates and energizes others.

  • Must have the flexibility to travel (~20% of time).
