Fairfield's Maintenance Apprenticeship Program offers a 90-day immersive training experience for individuals eager to build a career in apartment maintenance. As an apprentice, you will collaborate closely with our skilled maintenance team and gain hands-on experience in core areas including Safety, Electrical Systems, Plumbing, Appliances, Customer Service, Inventory Control, Unit Turn Process, and Technology.
This program is designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to the property management field from a maintenance perspective. During the apprenticeship program, participants will travel between various apartment communities within the region to gain exposure to diverse community types and training opportunities, enhancing their overall learning experience.

Education/Certificates
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Enrollment in or completion of a relevant technical or trade school program is preferred.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Experience
Previous experience in a maintenance role or related field is a plus but not required.
Experience in a customer service environment is advantageous.
Familiarity with basic tools and equipment is preferred.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Basic understanding of maintenance tasks and repair procedures.
Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot various issues.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
Attention to detail and a commitment to following safety protocols.
General computer skills including operating a mobile device.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies.
The ability to travel between different apartment communities within the region is required.
Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and some holidays.
Essential Duties
Participate in hands-on training across key maintenance areas including Safety, Electrical Systems, Plumbing, Appliances, Customer Service, Inventory Control, Unit Turn Process, and Technology.
Assist with routine maintenance tasks and repairs under the guidance of experienced professionals.
Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols while performing tasks.
Provide excellent customer service to residents and property owners by addressing concerns professionally.
Engage actively in training sessions and learning opportunities to develop technical skills and industry knowledge.
Completes company required training by established deadline.
Complies with all Fairfield standards, applicable health and safety rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state and federal laws.
Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned.

Estimated Rate of Pay:
$19.50 - $20.00
This position is non-exempt; the range above reflects hourly rates.
The pay range displayed for this position is determined by skills and experience required, location and job complexity*. Potential job offers may vary based on the skills, education, and experience an individual candidate holds. This range reflects base rate only, and does not include allowances, perks, commissions or bonuses applicable to this position (if any).
