A DAY IN THE LIFE



In this role, you'll collaborate directly with Senior Engineers on a variety of exciting small and large-scale projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to build your project management skills and advance your career while working on innovative initiatives. You will have a unique set of responsibilities that go beyond traditional engineering roles. Example projects include:


  • Pollution control system designs to reduce air and water pollution.


  • Waste management in developing methods to manage solid, hazardous wastes, recycling and beneficial reuse.


  • Environmental Impact Assessments to integrate environmental impacts in construction redevelopment projects.


  • Sustainable designs such as green remedial techniques and renewable energy; and


  • Regulatory compliance with state and federal environmental regulations, and land and coastal redevelopment laws and regulations.

  • Conducts scientific and engineering analysis under a Senior Engineer's supervision.


  • Develops project documentation, technical reports, data interpretations, permits, and graphical presentations.


  • Performs field inspections and activities in compliance with regulatory standards.


  • Enhances technical expertise in a specific area.


  • Maintains proficiency in field sampling, inspections, data collection, and analysis.


  • Demonstrates knowledge of relevant regulatory standards.


  • Coordinates with technical staff and interfaces with customers to provide project updates.


  • Tracks project budgets and hours, effectively managing time to meet deadlines.


  • Communicates potential issues to the Senior Project Manager.


  • Upholds confidentiality and follows safety protocols per company policies and OSHA regulations.


  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives and stays current on industry trends through training and workshops.


  • Performs additional duties as assigned.



YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS



To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


  • Bachelor's Degree or master's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university


  • 3+ years of relevant experience


  • A licensed Professional Engineer preferred or currently has an Engineer in Training (EIT) certification and is able to obtain a license within one year of starting, preferred.


  • Advanced knowledge of environmental compliance and environmental engineering principles


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills


  • Team player with strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.


  • Ability to work well in a team-driven environment.


  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and leaders.


  • Ability to travel (< 10%)


  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment where you handle multiple project assignments and meet deadlines.


  • Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record


  • Complete and maintain HAZWOPER certification with the 40-hour HAZWOPER environmental health and safety class and annual 8-hour refresher classes.
