Job Description Summary



The Team Leader Production supervises production, packaging, maintenance, and warehouse team members in a food processing environment: plans and assigns work; implements policies and procedures; monitors team member performance and takes corrective action; and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.



Job Description




Includes the following:



  • Ensures effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development. Makes employment decisions. Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.

  • Manage production balancing quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Works to continuously improve in all areas using available tools including PIT.

  • Manages departmental performance measures through Project Advantage and ConAgra Performance Systems, including visual controls and regular progress reports to manager.

  • Provide coaching, training, and leadership to insure that employees are performing assigned work properly.

  • Coordinate scheduling of personnel via the Human Resources Office to provide adequate staffing for production requirements.

  • Control line flows and blend rates as necessary and directed.

  • Monitor assigned production charts and processing equipment and authorize adjustments as needed.

  • Assist with the supervision of sanitation operations as necessary.

  • Enforce rules, regulations and procedures. Develop and deliver disciplinary actions when appropriate.

  • Evaluate subordinate performance, communicate with employees and provide information for work performance improvement.

  • Responsible for several shift reports and employee timecards.

  • Perform incident investigations driving to root cause and initiate corrective actions.

  • Facilitate shift safety meetings, shift safety committees, BBO, and Hazard ID processes.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment



The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the functions of this job. The employee:

  • Will regularly work near moving mechanical parts.

  • Is frequently exposed to moderately cold surrounding.

  • Is occasionally exposed to humid conditions as well as moderate heat and cold environments.

  • May be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, batter dust, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.

  • Will regularly work in an environment in which the noise level is usually loud.

Qualifications



The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position. To successfully perform this job an individual must:


  • Excellent PC skills, to include Windows, Word, and Excel.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work a 12 hour shift from 11 to 11 with rotating days off.

  • Previous experience in a food-processing environment is highly preferred.

  • Ability to work weekends and/or shift work with a strong work ethic and employment history.

  • Equivalent education and experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications.

  • Required to attend Process Quality (PQ) training and complete PQ certification within 2 years of training.




Education



  • Bachelors' degree in engineering, business administration, food science, microbiology, agriculture, or related field.

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

  • One to two years production processing or supervisory experience.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A candidate's work location could also impact the actual compensation being outside of the range to reflect local cost of labor. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $67,480.00 - $101,200.00
