Summary:

Summary: Manufacture of optical components using automated equipment including cleaning, washing, UV-ozonation, plasma etching, thin film deposition (sputtering & evaporation), laser ablation, lens polishing, and inspection.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:   
1) Operate all manufacturing equipment to produce high quality products at required specifications and volumes.  
2) Assist in research and development projects as needed.  
3) Maintain accurate records for all aspects of production and maintain the highest level of housekeeping in all areas of the plant.  
4) Train new employees on all equipment operations.  
5) Troubleshoot equipment problems and correct issues as they arise.  
6) Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as scheduled.  
7) Prepare products for shipment and coordinate transportation with freight carriers.  
8) Order supplies and materials as necessary.  
9) Schedule repair services and/or subcontracted work.  
10) Work closely with Quality Control personnel to ensure product meets customer requirements.  
 

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Requirements:   
1) Ability to read blueprints and understand geometric tolerances.  
2) Experience with automated equipment operation and computerized systems.  
3) Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs preferred.  
4) High school diploma or equivalent.  
5) Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and occasionally move up to 100 pounds or more with assistance.  
6) Flexible schedule – ability to work overtime when required.  
7) Good communication skills and attention to detail.  
8) Dependable transportation to and from the plant each day.  
9) Familiarity with ISO 9001 procedures helpful but not required.  

10) ITAR eligible (US Person as defined by USCIS)
