RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Data Quality Assurance: Assists in verifying or maintaining data accuracy and integrity by comparing it against source documents or systems. Collaborates with data management teams to correct data discrepancies and inconsistencies. Uses various data tools to track and report on data quality metrics. Supports efforts to correct data discrepancies and inconsistencies.


  • Data Documentation: Helps in maintaining and updating data documentation, ensuring that metadata and other relevant information are accurately recorded.


  • Data Governance: Enforces the use of data governance policies and standards while contributing to data documentation efforts, ensuring metadata, data lineage, and other relevant information are accurately recorded.


  • Data Security: Adheres to organizational security measures of data storage, transfer, and processing protocols.  Monitors data access and usage to identify any unauthorized or inappropriate patterns by those providing data.


  • Data Monitoring and Reporting: Assists in monitoring and adhering to data validation rules, routines, and data quality reports. Continuously monitors data feeds, databases, and other data sources to detect and address anomalies.


  • Reports Progress: Reports regularly on the status and outcomes of quality improvement efforts to management and relevant stakeholders.


  • Supports Audits: Assist in internal and external quality audits, ensuring preparedness and compliance.


  • Promotes a Culture of Quality: Encourages and fosters a culture of continuous improvement and quality consciousness within the organization.

  • Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:


  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent field that supports data Assurance, or equivalent combination of education experience.

  • Previous experience in a role requiring attention to detail and problem solving strongly preferred.  Prior experience in data assurance, data governance, or a related role is a plus.

  • Any relevant quality improvement certifications or willingness to pursue them would be an advantage.

  • Strong computer skills required, including ability to use standard office applications such as email, internet, and word processing.  Familiarity with basic data quality tools and software is a plus.

  • Detail oriented with ability to review and analyze data and information, identifying discrepancies or issues.

  • Demonstrates ability to follow instructions and comply with established processes and procedures.

  • Ability to recommend solutions to routine and moderately complex problems. 

  • Ability to work effectively in a deadline-oriented environment, demonstrates prioritization and a sense of urgency.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to write clear, concise and professional emails and interact with others professionally in person and on the phone.

  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic, working well with all team members and contributing proactively to a productive work environment.

  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment while supporting lead team members, and gradually building the skill set necessary for more complex tasks.

SCHEDULE/HOURS:


  • The typical schedule is during daytime business hours, Monday through Friday.

  • This position is hybrid with 2-3 days per week on site.
