Job Description:

SUMMARY


This position is responsible for managing the preparation and analysis of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting requirements for the division. This position is an integral part in maintaining and assuring the integrity of the general ledger of the division and maintaining effective internal controls over financial reporting. This position will assist in the consolidation process and manage a team focused on corporate accounting and SOX compliance. This position will report to the Division Controller and will have two or more direct reports.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


* Lead team of one or more staff, including performance reviews and development.
* Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close processes and preparation of Financial Statements in accordance with US GAAP for the division.
* Review and approve journal entries and supporting documentation.
* Review balance sheet accounts reconciliations, ensuring follow-up/clearing of open items is completed in a timely manner.
* Assist in uploading various financials from different ERP systems into consolidation tool.
* Reconcile all uploads to consolidation tool.
* Assist with Treasury function, reviewing, approving and releasing Wires/ACH's.
* Coordinate with other sites and departments to ensure financial deliverables are accurate and received in a timely manner.
* Research accounting pronouncements to determine impact on the company's operations.
* Perform complex analysis of various technical accounting concepts.
* Ensure that all policies and procedures are executed as written. Driving consistency and standardization across plants.
* Assist with scoping/planning for testing of internal financial and accounting controls.
* Work closely with process owners to ensure internal controls are adequately maintained and effective.
* Work with process owners to implement any remediation plans for deficiencies noted in test of design or operating effectiveness.
* Locate and define new process improvement opportunities within the department.
* Develop and maintain relationships with operating sites to resolve questions/issues that arise in the normal course of business.
* Apply continuous improvement principals to all aspect of the role.
* Assist with special projects, as necessary.

This position will lead the CIT Division Finance team (excluding Shared Service and FP&A).

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


* Required: Bachelor's college degree; minimum of five years of Accounting experience with an advanced knowledge of accrual-based accounting.
* Preferred: SAP experience, working knowledge of intra-/inter-company transactions, Accounting experience in a multinational company.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS


CPA certification, MBA or Advanced Accounting/Finance experience preferred.


LANGUAGE SKILLS


The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, technical accounting pronouncements, and procedure manuals. The ability to prepare reports and correspondence. The ability to speak effectively to employees of all levels in the organization.


ERP and EXCEL SKILLS


The ability to work with SAP or other tier 1 ERP software systems. The ability to work in excel using advanced skills. This would include but not be limited to Pivot Tables, VLookups/XLookups, and IFTHEN formulas. The ability to use these software systems when completing data analysis, trend analysis and variance analysis.


JOB SKILLS


* Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
* Excellent organizational and communication skills.
* Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
* ERP software experience (SAP and/or Oracle experience preferred).
* SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) experience preferred.
* Continuous improvement mindset.
