The Quality Assurance Technician performs duties to assure quality product by conducting in-process inspections and evaluating finished product.
Primary Responsibilities:
Identifies raw and cooked material condition by collecting material samples, conducting inspections and physical tests of materials
Identifies in-process product condition by collecting samples during production process, conducting in-process inspections and physical tests
Determines disposition of finished product by collecting, classifying, analyzing and interpreting production and quality data; judging product acceptability in comparison to specifications
Documents finished product status by recording and summarizing raw material, in-process and finished product inspection, and physical test data
Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned and needed
Actively participates in food safety programs that ensure the safety of ingredients and finished products
Attends training sessions as needed to maintain compliance and regulatory knowledge
Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent
Able to effectively speak, read and write English; bilingual in Spanish a plus
Proficient with basic math skills
Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office
Knowledge of general safety practices
Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and USDA regulations a plus
Working knowledge of Adage a plus
Must be reliable and punctual
Able to work overtime and weekends as needed
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift on average 25lbs daily, 15-20% of day
Able to climb in excess of 3-15 feet, daily
Able to tolerate extreme temperatures 60-70% of time
Training Period:
Minimum one year meeting all above requirements; up to three years.
