HOURLY RATE - ($37.63 -$50.44)
Duties:
Under directive supervision maintains, operates and does general construction and repair work in a large general and local office building and service center which includes water and sewage treatment systems, a cafeteria and auditorium: Operates, maintains, inspects, lubricates and makes adjustments to elevators, dumbwaiters and conveyors, and systems such as: water and sewage treatment; plumbing; electric power and lighting; heating, ventilating and air conditioning. Makes additions and modifications to these systems.
Samples, tests and performs chemical treatment on water and sewage, in accordance with State regulations and company requirements.
Records test results and other operating and maintenance data.
Does other related or less skilled work as required, including the duties of a General Construction & Maintenance Repairman.
Experience, Education and Special Information Required:
Should have had 4 years prior experience operating and maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment.
Must be a high school graduate or have obtained an equivalency diploma recognized by New York State.
Must be able to successfully complete Company sponsored training in order to obtain licenses to operate water and sewage treatment systems in accordance with the regulations of the State of New York.
Must possess automobile operator's license.
Must be familiar with Company Safety Rules, approved methods of resuscitation and able to render practical First Aid.
Physical and Personal Qualifications:
Must be willing to work irregular hours as a scheduled worker.
Must meet the General Requirements for all employees as outlined in the Preamble to the Job Specification Manual.
