Director - Purchasing Growth Initiatives (Avangrid Management Company, LLC, Orange, CT): Prepares purchasing plan related to investment dossiers, public bidding processes and auctions, and coordinates purchasing activities related to AVANGRID's growth (e.g. Hydrogen, Transmission Lines, Solar, etc.). projects. The purchasing plan lays the CapEx foundation of the investment dossier, setting the final cost of the offer: Defines the purchasing strategy for the entire cycle of procurement activities: planning, technical requirements definition, supplier engagement campaigns, competitive bids and price negotiation, terms & conditions / contract negotiation, proposal of award. Ensures technical and commercial offers obtained to support the CapEx estimates of each investment project and monitors deadlines are met by all participating suppliers. Leads iterative processes of CapEx improvement, together with business and technical teams, to unlock innovative solutions and to determine the optimal scope, as well as all technical and contractual and financial aspects of the goods and services that need to be procured.
Builds relationships with suppliers in new markets and establishes strategic partnerships that may include Memorandums of Understanding, Preferred Supplier Agreements, Exclusivity Agreements or similar strategic arrangements that are necessary to ensure AVANGRID has a competitive advantage that will allow us to successfully execute on a bid proposal if AVANGRID is awarded a project. Together with the respective category managers, leads negotiations with suppliers to ensure competitive and high-quality estimates of CapEx figures that are used to prepare AVANGRID's bids in auctions and other competitive processes. In close collaboration with the business areas, monitors CapEx estimates related to growth projects and prepares feasibility reports for the VP Purchasing & Insurance. Shares information related to Growth Projects with the AVANGRID Purchasing Organization and with the Global Purchasing team at IBERDROLA. Locally coordinates all activities related to these projects within Procurement. Monitors execution of the purchasing plans until further delegation into the different Purchasing Teams or completion of construction. Proposes strategic initiatives related to the sourcing of certain critical equipment and services and initiates work groups to proactively pursue a strategic review of current sourcing strategies with the objective to ensure AVANGRID's security of supply at competitive prices. Engages the relevant stakeholders from the respective Business areas.
Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week, $171,600.00 per year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field, and 7 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field, and 5 years of work experience.
Must have 5 years of experience in purchasing sourcing methodology.
Must have 5 years of experience in corporate-wide business processes and operations for a global, publicly listed company.
Must have 5 years of experience in supplier interaction and negotiation experience, building vendor relationships, negotiating complex contracts of more than $100M.
Must have 5 years of experience managing a cross-functional project team of at least 10 people, including executives.
Must have 5 years of experience working within renewable energy and/or 5 years of experience working in the construction sector.
Must have 2 years of experience working internationally in a multi-lingual environment with multi-lingual teams.
International travel required up to 5%; Domestic travel required up to 20%.
