The Senior Reporting and Communications Officer will support the ASAS team to engage with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Higher Education, university staff, and relevant partners to audit current policies and incentive structures and to develop relevant and well-aligned systems, policies, and practices across the Early Grade Education ecosystem in Jordan, including pre- and in-service teacher education and early grade education delivery.

Your Background & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills and follow up.
  • Demonstrated high attention to details.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to support and assist colleagues.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication in English and Arabic language required and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience with USIAD projects, particularly in Joran and/or other Middle Eastern Countries, desired.
  • USAID Reporting (progress reports and annual work plans) experience.
  • Content creation experience.
  • Graphic Design or multimedia experience.
  • Must demonstrate valid proof of unrestricted work authorization in Jordan.
  • Flexible can-do attitude.
  • Multitasking and prioritizing.
  • Multimedia or graphic design.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication, interpersonal and cross-cultural skills, relationship building skills, and the ability to work cooperatively with team members, partner organizations, and stakeholders from government and education sectors. 
  • Strong computer skills and proven track record in the advanced use of modern communications tools, internet, email, social media, and teleconferences. 
  • Detail-oriented with ability to multitask and adjust priorities in a fast-paced working environment in order to adhere to strict deadlines. 
  • Demonstrate leadership, integrity, and versatility. 
  • Effective oral and written communication credentials.
  • Very good command of English Language and Arabic is required.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must demonstrate valid proof of unrestricted work authorization in Jordan.

Your Daily Tasks

  • Drafting success stories.
  • Drafting and reviewing internal/external reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, as well as annual work plans.
  • Drafting and reviewing Activity presentations and other documents/deliverables in line with USAID branding and marking guidelines.
  • Assisting with drafting and/or finalizing press releases for various Activity interventions and successes.
  • Supporting the development of written communications.
  • Contributing to the branding and marking of all partners’ (sub-awardees’) communications products.
  • Creating videos, including concept notes, suggested storyboards, and managing vendors.
  • Assisting in the creation of high-quality visuals and complex infographics presented in a visually appealing and simple manner, including infographics for MEL findings and conclusions.
  • Supporting in managing graphic design and printing requirements with vendors.
  • Performs additional duties and tasks to meet the needs of the organization, team, or as assigned by manager.
  • Supporting communications campaigns, including those led by universities and the MoE.
  • Supporting in implementing successful marketing initiatives in partner universities.
  • Supporting in building the marketing capacity of partner universities and the MoE.
  • Support with sharing Activity data with IREX HQ for dissemination on IREX platforms and channels.
  • Providing on-the-ground support during various Activity interventions to capture raw-footage, photos and testimonials and produce write-ups that convey the story and impact.
  • Other duties as assigned.
