Responsibilities:
Work from work orders, schedules, and verbal instructions.
Unload trucks and receive materials. Inspect packaging, count receipts, and ensure accuracy against receivers and purchase orders in computer systems. Enter information into the MRP system, move materials to appropriate locations and store, organize, and rotate stock using prescribed methods and procedures.
Note damages to cartons and materials that do not pass inspection and report shortages or discrepancies. Package and return rejected or defective material when provided with Material Return Authorization (MRA).
Identify carriers for shipments based on destination and preferred providers, obtain quotes, negotiate carrier discounts and rates, and select carriers to be used.
Organize shipments and arrange by customer, working with brokered carriers for the most efficient and cost-effective shipping. Coordinate with carriers or brokers to pick up purchased parts and materials from vendors.
Ensure loads have all required documentation for shipping. Load finished goods packaged for shipment on trucks. Apply strapping to ensure compliance with company requirements to protect units and prevent shifting in transit. Seal fully loaded containers to prevent any tampering.
Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and meet schedules and quality requirements.
Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition. Consistently operate in keeping with all safety rules and requirements.
Participate in various meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specified knowledge about new developments, requirements, and policies.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
2+ years of experience in shipping and receiving or related field
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft 365 Office
Experience operating equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
