INVENTORY CONTROLLER Job Description REPORTS TO: Service Center Operations Manager PURPOSE OF POSITION: Maintaining records of material in inventory and on order, monitoring re-order points, and initiating action to replenish inventory while reconciling any and all discrepancies that may occur. Organize and coordinate all warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, stocking, and pulling of service jobs within the Service Center facility. Ensuring that the day to day duties are carried out efficiently to achieve on time delivery and meet the demands of the Servicecenter. Conduct work activities in a professional manner that reflects positively on the image of the company and conforms to GIW Industries Inc. Health and Safety Policy. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Ensures all work is carried out in a clean and safe environment as per the current Health and Safety legislation.2.Performs at a high standard in each area of responsibility with a tenacious and determinedapproach3.Organize and maintain inventory storage areas to ensure efficient and safe materialstorage and handling.4.Adheres to productivity metrics regarding efficiency.5.Safely and efficiently operates mechanicallifting devices such as overhead cranes, palletjacks and forklifts.6.Maintain and manage inventory of materials and stocked products, including stocklocations and profiles.7.Monitors stock levels and makes recommendations to manager for level changes.8.Ensures safe/correct lifting of parts in warehouse.9.Retrieve materials for service orders comparing against information on picking slips, billof materials, etc. insuring quantities and materials are accurate prior to issuing toproduction.10.Process incoming shipments to verify accuracy of goods received in accordance to GIWprocedures.11.Organizes warehouse racking and parts storage for easy identification and tracking.12.Moves materials and castings throughout the plant as directed.KSBSupremeServBy GIW Minerals13.Keeps organized recordsas instructed.14.Ability to work independently and as a team member.15.Makes recommendation to supervisors and manager for improvements.16.Notifies QC and appropriate persons on non-conforming products.17.Keeps stock levels and inventory accurate with weeklycycle counts.18.Collaborates with inventory management to insure service warehouse activities are incompliance with company guidelines.19.Ability to work independently, prioritizing per customer demands.20.Able to make good, sound decisions–logical and analytical abilities welcomed21.Prepares all outbound assemblies for safe shipment and handling per procedure.22.Unloads all incoming shipments as needed.23.Ensures proper labeling and sorting of spares within warehouse.24.Inspects, logs, photos and fills out proper documentation on all incoming shipments.EDUCATION:High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 2 years related experience required.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE ANDEXPERIENCE:?Proficient in the use of inventory control software.?2-3 years of experiencein a warehouse environment, including shipping and receiving?Promote safety and housekeeping at all times.?Must be able to work overtime on short notice as and when required.?Must be able to wear appropriate personnel protective equipment.?Willing to pursue further education and training.?Adhere to company policies regarding attendance and safety.?Operates forklifts, cranes, and pallet jacks as and when needed.?Ability to use inventory label equipment such as label printers, ID tags, barcodes, etc.?Abilityto interpret OEM bill of materials.?Ability to accurately track inventory and reconcile stock counts.?Computer literate in Microsoft office applications as well as a working knowledge inSAP systems?Performs at a high standard in each area ofresponsibility.KSBSupremeServBy GIW Minerals?Knowledge of raw material and components related to pumps and other rotatingequipment.?Attention to detail and strong math skills.?Ability to work independently and as a team member.?Ability to work under pressure.?Performs tactical and strategic problem solving and ability to make good, sounddecisions.?Assists in implementation of department goals.?Makes recommendation to supervisors and manager for improvements.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Depending upon the particular needs of the area/department, physical requirements may include, but arenot limited to lifting up to 70 lbs, (Thomson & Florida) or 50 lbs. (Canada) squatting, pulling, kneeling
