Sensor Engineering Intern (Summer 2025)

As a Sensor Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to work directly with the engineers and scientists who are developing the next generation of Lake Shore sensors. Work may include microfabrication tasks in our cleanroom, design tasks to aid in packaging, assembly and metrology, and work with electronic components and instrumentation to aid in test and measurement. This position will work onsite out of Westerville, OH, for the Summer of 2025. Relocation assistance is NOT available for our internships. It is preferred that candidates are available full-time (40 hours per week).

Primary Duties Include:

• Work with an engineer or scientist to learn technologies or processes of microfabrication, packaging design, assembly, metrology, electronic components, and/or test and measurement instrumentation
• Apply learning to complete experiments, measurements, or assemblies with minimal supervision
• Report the results of work to the larger team

Qualifiers:

• Working towards an undergraduate bachelor's degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline (Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.)
• Minimum GPA of 3.0+
• Ability to preserve the confidentiality of information, strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to be both an independent worker and team player
