Edelman Smithfield is seeking a Senior Account Executive to join our growing Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) financial communications team. Edelman's ESG team is a boutique strategic consultancy with the reach and resources of the world's largest public relations firm. Our team works with businesses and global functions to drive client strategies that address ESG trends and to determine factors that align with and support business goals.

Responsibilities:


    • Project manage client engagements, coordinating deliverables and timelines for execution

    • Support client engagement operational functions, including liaising with finance/contracting, managing client budget reporting and other administrative tasks

    • Participate in and, in some cases, manage client internal working groups

    • Contribute to the creation of comprehensive stakeholder engagement and communications plans, with the ability to execute across all communications channels and formats (e.g., slide presentations; financial and non-financial reports; websites; social media; investor decks, investor days; shareholder engagement materials; employee engagement via intranet, blogs, etc.; client-hosted events and external conferences, panels, etc.)

    • Work with business lines and global functions to set ESG goals and KPIs in alignment with industry benchmarks and business goals

    • Manage multiple projects from conception to completion, by anticipating challenges and ensuring deadline and budget adherence. Sample projects could include materiality assessments, internal and external benchmarking, development of ESG/sustainability reports and creation of stakeholder communications materials.

    • Aid in the development of ESG platforms and thought leadership for C-suite and Board members

    • Supervise junior staff by motivating, coaching, and consistently providing feedback

Basic Qualifications:

    • The Senior Account Executive must have 3 years of relevant experience in ESG and/or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications:


    • Superior project management skills

    • Able to drive initiatives without authority (patient, persistent, and personable - with presence)

    • Strong communicator excellent writer

    • Change agent; likes new challenges and able to perform in a fast-paced environment

    • Experience overseeing critical ESG activities and workstreams such as (but not limited to) materiality assessments, strategy development and ESG reporting

    • Bachelor's degree and relevant work experience

    • Prior agency experience or ESG consulting work ( For TA - Big 4 preferred such as PwC, Accenture)

    • ESG reporting at a public company

    • Experience working at an ESG reporting framework and/or standard-setting organization (TCFD, SASB, CDP) or data provider/ranker/rater (MSCI, Sustainalytics\, IHS Markit)

    • Data science/analytics experience

    • Useful certifications: SASB; GRI

$70,000 - $83,000 a year

An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
