NOVA-Dine is seeking a Desktop Support Lead to work at Ft. Meade, MD that will support an extensive digital modernization program critical to DISA and Fourth Estate Agencies.

The Defense Enclave Services (DES) contract aims to consolidate the common-use information technology systems, personnel, functions, and program elements of the DOD Fourth Estate Defense Agencies and Field Activities, under the guidance of DISA's Fourth Estate Network Optimization program office.



Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Team Lead for the Workstation Image Team and mentor junior teammates (in problem resolution activities and resolves more complex technology issues.)
  • Prepare, test, and deploy workstation images for the DISA DODNet and maintain task sequences for deploying workstation images.
  • Create, update, and delete dynamic and static collections and reports for installation, modification, and removal of applications.
  • Create custom test environments to provide proof of concept before implementing into the production environment.
  • Create, update, deploy, troubleshoot, and remove objects in the MECM/SCCM environment, sites, distribution points (DPs), and clients based on provided guidelines.
  • Develop workstation operating system upgrades both for reimaging purposes and updating the workstations in the environment.
  • Configure, update and troubleshoot task sequences, wim builds, and boot CD.
  • Test new workstation models and make sure the drivers are in the task sequence for new models. Identify any functionality issues with new devices before they are approved.
  • Ensure commonality across all environments (NIPR, SIPR, EVIF) and any new environments as required.
  • Resolve workstation image issues escalated from Tier 2 technicians.
  • Updates tickets within ServiceNow.
  • Remotely log into the end users' endpoint (desktops and/or servers) in order to perform technical software configuration, rebooting, and other actions.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work and communicate with others effectively and professionally.
  • Ensure commonality across all environments (NIPR, SIPR, EVIF) and any new environments as required.
  • Create, update, and delete dynamic and static collections and reports for installation, modification, and removal of applications.
  • Create custom test environments to provide proof of concept before implementing into the production environment.
  • Create, update, deploy, troubleshoot, and remove objects in the SCCM environment, sites, distribution points (DPs), and clients based on provided guidelines.
  • Provide follow-up reports (technical findings, feedback, resolution steps taken) for root cause analysis, engineering technical assessment and process improvement initiatives.
  • Must have flexible working hours to be available to support team when needed to include: occasional on call support (typically one week at a time every two months) or additional hours based on mission need.
  • Perform security checklists for Workstations as directed.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience; additional years of directly applicable experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Must have an active Secret DoD clearance.
  • Current DoD 8570 IAT II Certification (or higher) is required at start date.
  • Experience with Scripting/Automation using PowerShell or other scripting languages .
  • Experience troubleshooting issues in a growing environment.
  • A consultative/advisory mindset with the ability to design.
  • Experience in troubleshooting application issues in virtualized environment.
  • Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Request Management.
  • Collaboration with the team in implementing new technology initiatives, standards major changes or upgrades to production environments.
