Job Summary
Job Description
Responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies for assigned market segments. Lead team of marketing professionals (direct and indirect) focused on enabling the sales force via sales tools and support grounded in customer and market insight and strategic business direction.
Responsibilities:
Communicate priorities and collaborate cross-functionally to develop and implement a clear marketing strategy that are consistent with both corporate and division goals.
Lead new business development activity including launching new products, services and capabilities into new and existing markets.
Track the competition and conduct market research to assess gaps; develop market and customer expertise to further define Medline’s position in the market place, build networks of thought leadership, partner with industry organizations, and advertise to enhance reputation in the market.
Develop and manage all sales communications and engagement. This includes collaboration with sales on customer round tables, advisory boards, case stories, publications, customer presentations and other meetings.
Work with sales to develop and own the annual marketing plan, sales communication plan and calendar of events. Ensure return on investment from marketing programs while meeting the needs of the markets and customers served.
Analyze budgets and financials for all measureable tasks in marketing to assist department management in identifying areas of opportunity and growth versus areas/activities that are not producing results.
Management responsibilities include:
Typically, manages through multiple Managers. Provides leadership and management to one or more major departments of an operating unit or to a department that has system-wide accountability.
Strategic, tactical and operational planning (12 + months) for the function or department.
Direct budgetary responsibility for one or more departments, functions or major projects/programs
Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects and develops.
Recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies.
Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Marketing related field.
Experience:
At least 7 years of marketing experience (ex. marketing plans, promotions, trade shows and other marketing/sales strategies).
At least 4 years of experience managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people as they work.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Experience developing strategic initiatives which align with business goals and budget.
Experience understanding customer needs/priorities and skills to use that insight to develop innovative and effective marketing programs that generate sales.
Previous experience working with data mining programs (i.e. Sales Menu, Business Objects, etc.).
Experience developing and delivering presentations to various audience levels within, and external to, an organization
