What You Will Contribute:
The Tool Room Manager is responsible for all aspects of in house tool manufacturing, maintenance, development and testing activities to ensure business objectives are met. In addition, the Manager is expected to allocate personnel, coordinate work flow, and evaluate the work of direct reports.
Job Duties:
Responsible for effective management of the tool room, including the creation of a positive working atmosphere that encourages the professional development of tool room personnel.
Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.
Maintain optimum utilization of production facilities through the provision of prompt and satisfactory tool room repairs and services.
Preparation and operation within departmental budget constraints.
Responsible for cost-effective construction of new tooling, identifying and implementing new equipment, materials and services.
Oversee the repair and maintain full array of various plastic molds and metal stamping tools.
Keep accurate maintenance records and history files to aid in future repairs and/or tool maintenance decisions.
Provide effective communication between tool room and production areas for Badger Meter Manufacturing facilities.
Work with outside vendors to supply needed services when necessary.
Education and Experience:
Associates degree in Tool & Die making required
7+ years of related Tool & Die making experience desired; Significant experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree
Qualifications:
Journeyman status as a Tool and Die maker required
Previous experience in CNC programming and EDM operation preferred
Basic knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint required

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment
Must be able to stand or walk for prolonged periods of time
Depending on the assigned department, must complete an audiogram test
