As an Accounting Analyst for Services, Repair and Warranty Controllership, you'll be a key member of the controllership and operations (CAO) team supporting Geek Squad express replacement and factory warranty. You'll support the month end close process by gathering information from business partners, preparing journal entries, analyzing variances, issuing business reporting and performing account reconciliations. You'll also support financial and accounting process improvement and efficiencies.

This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

What you'll do
Coordinate and support month-end close process including preparing and recording journal entriesAnalyze monthly financial results and prepare meaningful variance commentaryLead monthly review meetings with the Geek Squad express replacement team when needed to ensure expense is recognized accurately and on timePartner with the factory warranty team to reconcile claim paymentsPrepare monthly account reconciliations and research any variances if applicablePrepare SOX testing for key controls.
Basic qualifications
2 years of experience in accounting, finance, economics, business or related field 2 years of experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Access, Excel)
Preferred qualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or business, GAAP accounting knowledge and an ability to research questions as they ariseSarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance knowledge Experience identifying process improvements or automation to streamline processesCPA license
