Best Buy is looking for a Commercial Construction Estimator who will be responsible for providing accurate and timely estimates and schedules for construction projects for Retail, Non-Retail, and Rollout Programs. The individual in this role will develop cost estimates with an understanding of current market conditions with subcontracting and materials.

This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. What you'll doAnalyze architectural / engineering plans and specifications / technical documents to produce accurate and cost-effective estimates and schedules for all construction projectsBi-annual budget update to prototypesCreate directional budgets based off Statement of Work when drawings/specifications are not availablePartner with Construction, Design, Development, Procurement, and Real Estate Teams in value engineering effortsResponsible for developing estimating tool and process that supports all workstreams.Work with CPM's and Procurement on creating bid documents for all workstreamsPartner with Procurement, Design, and Development on preferred material costing and selectionsNegotiate contracts with subcontractors and material suppliers in partnership with Procurement and CPM'sTrack material costs and quantities throughout projects and work with Project Coordinator on forecastingReview Proposed Change Requests with CPM's to confirm pricing for scope is fair and reasonableMonitor expenses and construction costs to ensure projects are completed within budgetUpdate and communicate changes in cost estimates Prepare and present detailed summaries of labor costs and materials on a quarterly basisMinimal travel to construction sites, conferences, etc. Basic Qualifications:5 years of experience in commercial construction Extensive experience reading and understanding architectural and engineering drawings and specificationsPreferred Qualifications:BS/BA in construction estimating, engineering, architecture, construction management BlueBeam, CAD or Procore experienceTraining and certification by ASPE (American Society of Professional Estimators) Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite - Xcel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams, OutlookSolid working knowledge of construction principles and basic accounting principles.
