As a Senior Import/Export Analyst you will:

  • Ensure campus compliance with all import and export control laws, regulations, and related government requirements.
  • Research products and make timely and accurate classifications using the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule and Schedule B.
  • Classify export control commodities, technology, and software as required by ITAR and EAR.
  • Create and maintain import-export classification files, logs, and the export control searchable database.
  • Provide import/export education classes for campus staff and researchers, reinforcing compliance policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement desktop processes, tools, and forms for US import/export international shipment operations.
  • Assist with data gathering and entry for export licenses, CCATS submissions, import authorizations, or permits, and tracking.
  • Provide daily import/export support, including Restricted Party Screening.
  • Contribute to import/export compliance process improvements as a team member.
  • Assist the Manager with import and export compliance program development and projects.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
This is a Full-Time 1st Shift Opportunity.

Pay Rate: $35-39/hr

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree or comparable experience required.
  • 5 years of export/import compliance experience.
  • Ability to work independently, applying import and export rules and regulations to daily activities with sound judgment.
  • Experience interpreting U.S. Customs Regulations, including HTS, CFR 19, Explanatory Notes, Customs publications, and Schedule B.
  • Experience with U.S. Export regulations and laws (ITAR, EAR, and OFAC) and export/import classifications and denied party screening requirements.
  • Effective team player with good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion and exercise good judgment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and projects, and re-prioritize continuously.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced technical degree (MS/PhD or equivalent in Science or Engineering).
  • Licensed U.S. Customs Broker.
  • Excellent computer skills; prior experience with eCustoms, Excel, Microsoft Word, AES, SNAP-R, and DECCS.
