We are looking for an energetic process design engineer to take ownership and responsibility of all process engineering relatedactivities at site. Process Design Engineer will support the plant with following typical process engineering activities including,but not limited to:1. Process Design Engineer will be working on different types of projects ranging from helping site with troubleshooting,improvement projects, growth, Process Safety, etc.2. Process Design Engineer will be responsible for developing Front-End-Engineering packages needed to define thescope of projects assigned to him/her by Engineering Manager. The activities associated with FEL work are typically:a. Equipment adequacy checks, PID development, Safety Valve contingency analysis and sizing, equipmentspecification, hydraulic evaluations, alternative selection, vendor coordination, control valve sizing, PHAcloseouts, etc.3. Process Design Engineer willa. Lead the activities associated with complete scope definition of projects. As such, the successful processengineer will work closely with all involved discipline leads and stakeholders to seek their input.b. Take part in incident investigation and take the ownership for process engineering related incidents. In manycases the outcome of incident investigations will ultimately result in a project to improve the facility.



Essential Functions


  • Developing MOC packages

  • Be able to evaluate the situation / condition and propose troubleshooting ideas

  • Evaluating processes and equipment to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations

  • Leading small capital projects (less than $2M). The following activities may be applicable: plant layout, equipment purchasing, construction support, PID walk downs, commissioning, startup.


Education Qualifications

  • Required Bachelor's Degree Chemical Engineering


Experience Qualifications

  • Required 5+ years experience with an EPC or a petrochemical operating company


Skills and Abilities

  • Knows how to do: Line sizing, Pump sizing, evaluate existing equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, control valve sizing, PSV sizing, etc

  • Competency in performing basic chemical engineering calculations and generating Heat & Material Balanes

  • Competency in one of widely used process modelling softwares such as Aspen+, Hysys, Provision, ChemCAD

  • Basic knowledge of: distillation columns, reboilers, condensers, process control, loading & offloading facilities, tank design, etc

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Excellent technical and computer skills including MS Office, Visio, Bluebeam, Chemchad / Aspen


Working Conditions/Physical Demands

  • Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long periods of time, up to 12 hours per day.

  • Sitting. Working from a seated position for up to 12 hours per day.

  • Climbing. Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms one to two times per day.

  • Balancing. Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing or crouching on narrow or slippery surfaces.

  • Stooping. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.

  • Kneeling. Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.

  • Crouching. Bending the body downward and forward by bending legs and spine.

  • Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

  • Pushing. Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force, exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force consistently to move objects forward, downward or outward.

  • Pulling. Using upper extremities to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force consistently to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.

  • Lifting. Raising objects up to 25 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 15 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds consistently from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.

  • Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.

  • Possible subject to environmental conditions. Activities could occur inside and outside.

  • Subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 for periods of more than one hour.

  • Subject to vibration. Exposure to movements of the extremities or whole body. Operate/drive utility vehicle.

  • Subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.

  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE for tasks as required. FRC uniform, hard hat, safety toe work boots, safety glasses, gloves etc.
