Med-Surgery - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (24007922)

Research Area: Intraoperative molecular imaging

Position Description: The laboratory of Marcus Malek, M.D. in the Department of Surgery, Division of Pediatric Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Malek-Kohanbash intraoperative molecular imaging lab has an immediate opening for a talented and passionate postdoctoral associate. The ideal candidate will have an MD or Ph.D in relevant disciplines and have demonstrated independent research in a related area. Required skills include the ability to work with cell lines, reagents, and small animals. On-the-job training is expected. The candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The candidate will be expected to learn how to design and execute experiments, including the creation of tumor xenografts, flow cytometry, tissue harvest, and biodistribution. This rewarding position can be expected to yield significant productivity, including grant funding, oral presentations at local, national, and international meetings, publications, and the initiation of a clinical trial in the near future.
