This part-time role is responsible for coordinating and managing educational placement processes and operational needs for assigned programs, in collaboration with the Office of Sponsored Programs and Center for Career and Professional Development with special focus on assisting the Placement Director with various duties related to the placement of student teachers in the Department of Education . The Career Readiness Placement Specialist ensures efficient processes for student screenings, site safety, program operations and administrative departmental needs are occurring in order to support the success of career related apprenticeships.
The Career Readiness Placement Specialist facilitates, supports, and monitors apprenticeship-learning activities, accreditation/licensure requirements, stipend/adjunct payments, and related activities for assigned programs in coordination with program directors, department chairs, and the Office of Sponsored Programs, when appropriate. These activities ensure that the execution and quality of student readiness experiences occur in compliance with program mission, vision, course goals and licensure standards.
Assist the Placement Director with the coordination of outreach associated with partnership placements and processes .
Issue clinical/student teacher supervision and adjunct faculty contracts, as well as compliance documentation regarding part-time employment processes.
Cultivate partnerships for career readiness placements, alumni involvement, preceptor recruitment, and program/course efficacy.
Serve as a liaison for students; answering student questions regarding engagement with program policies and procedures.
Assist faculty with the coordination of the clinical/student teacher education components of the curriculum.
Maintain apprenticeship site records, student evaluations, student profiles, contracts and affiliation agreements and other appropriate information in compliance with program and State standards.
Ensure department administrative operations are effective and processes meet licensure/accreditation requirements, including reporting requirements.
Support grant funded initiatives focused on career readiness.
Work with grant-funded faculty to purchase and process grant expenses, including but not limited to employee stipends, travel, hospitality, equipment procurement, materials and supplies, and fees for contractors/vendors.
Support grant-funded faculty with administrative responsibilities of grant projects like planning and managing logistics of meetings and workshops.
Support program directors in the coordination of data collection, analysis, preparation, and submission of reports.
Collaborate with faculty, administration, and licensure/accrediting bodies to assess, plan, edit and implement changes to the program as needed.
Monitor and report on program outcomes relevant to accreditation/licensure standards.
Work with the associated department to support self-study reports regarding apprenticeship learning efficacy and placement site sufficiency.
Description of Key Responsibilities:
Maintain the administrative, academic, service, and scholarship aspects consistent with the mission and philosophy of the academic program.
Collaborate with the program directors in coordinating aspects of the student site placement.
Maintain databases, including student files, site placement documents and other appropriate clinical/student teacher information.
Attend and take minutes at program/department meetings.
Provide students with information on the requirements that need to be fulfilled before starting the placement.
Serve as liaison between grant-funded faculty and personnel in other offices on campus that support grant activities.
Track the progress of students throughout the placement process, ensuring that all requirements are met, and that students have the required documentation, forms, and agreements in place.
Communicate program curriculum, philosophy, objectives, evaluative criteria, policies, procedures, clinical dates, and other pertinent information to stakeholders.
Assist leaders in implementing learning environments that demonstrate characteristics of an ethical and professional facility that incorporates the program or department's core values.
Support faculty in data mining, analysis, organization, display, and summarizing data trends that will aid in the maintenance of licensure/accreditation and program improvements.

Ability to communicate in the English language, both orally and in writing, with particular emphasis on the ability to produce documents that are attractively and professionally formatted and present proper spelling, grammatical usage and punctuation.
Effectively use the most advanced version of word processing, Excel spreadsheet and database software, PowerPoint, administrative computing system and content management system software for webpage development and maintenance. This includes a willingness to explore new technological solutions to office needs and to anticipate new ways of supporting strategic goals.
Ability to manage multiple activities concurrently in a high‐volume environment, to continually monitor their status and to prioritize activities so that deadlines are met, and overall office effectiveness is maximized. These characteristics require an individual who is well‐organized, detail oriented and flexible.
Knowledge of the College's mission, organization, operation, performance expectations, and culture, including a strong grasp of the "big picture" and details required of maintaining an accredited program.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
Assist in the performance of administrative support duties to support the programs and processes of North Central College's students with a high degree of independence and commitment to the School of Graduate and Professional Studies, School of Education and Health Sciences, and its assigned programs.
Education/Training:
Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalences through work experiences.
Experience:
