Description: Stellar is seeking to hire a Travelling Assistant Superintendent to assist in the day-to-day construction of Federal construction projects. You will work with superintendents, project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure construction processes are accurate and in conformance with established documents, specifications, and drawings. Regularly supervises work of subcontractors, inspect and verify work in progress, and strictly enforce compliance with safety procedures. Travelling Superintendents work at jobsites for extended periods of time.
Responsible for confirming all layout, lines, grades, anchor bolt accuracy, building lines, and squareness. Has total responsibility for maintenance, safety, accuracy, and physical condition of all surveying equipment. Reviews and verifies construction documents and shop drawings to ensure that conflicts and deficiencies do not arise in the fieldwork
Responsible for compliance with working drawings and specifications. Obtains, maintains, and distributes up-to-date drawings. Is charged with ensuring that the most current drawings are being utilized and that obsolete drawings are properly filed and/or destroyed
Assists with project safety and compliance with OSHA and Stellar safety policies
Along with Superintendent, assists with project construction. Coordinates and directs all trades on the project, including subcontractors according to Superintendent's direction
Studies specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction
Studies supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction on how to prevent delays
Studies supervisory personnel and labor representatives on how to resolve complaints and grievances within the work force
Studies supervisory and engineering personnel, inspectors, and suppliers of tools and materials on how to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods
Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and adherence to construction schedules
Assists with maintaining and organizing documents and records on the job site.
May be assigned to perform a portion of the on-site work with tradesmen as determined by Superintendent III, II, or I and/or General Superintendent
Assist with Daily Safety Audit, Daily Post Preparatory Meeting Inspections, and Daily Log including collection of subcontractor daily reports and SPA's
Weekly Safety Meetings with Notes, Sign-In Sheet, and SDS
Assists with Weekly Subcontractor Coordination Meetings with Notes, Sign-In Sheet, and Procore Look Ahead Schedule
1-5 years of construction experience, preferably in federal/military projects
Nationwide travel required for extended periods of time
OSHA 30 preferred
EM385 1-1 40 HR preferred
NAVFAC CQMC Certification preferred
Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
