The Quality Control (QC) Inspector is responsible for conducting testing and inspections of materials, components, and assemblies using tools and methods appropriate to the product specifications and customer requirements.

QUALITY
• Responsible for being familiar with the Company's Quality policies, process, and procedures and to take an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherford's Quality Management System

OPERATIONS
• Inspect parts in-process, finished products, and/or purchased materials ensuring that that work is accomplished per established inspection procedures
• Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications
• Inspects equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects
• Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events
• Ensure that instruments and gauges being used are in good condition and valid calibration
• Prepares and maintains records and documentation of inspection acceptance, rejection, and/or re-work requirements.
• Verifies applicable drawings and specifications are the current revision prior to use
• Piece part inspection to include dimensional, visual, non-destructive testing and hardness testing as may be required
• Receiving inspection to include dimensional, visual non-destructive testing and hardness testing as may be required
• Review material test certificates during receiving inspection
• Maintain and update calibration database for calibrating equipment
• Coordinates outsource/in-house equipment due for calibration
• Read work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or materials requirements
• Raise, update, and ensure follow up of any NCR/ CPAR related to the products or services
• Prepare documentation of the inspection process, which includes detailed reports and performance records
• Apply sound, systematic problem-solving methodologies in identifying, prioritizing, communicating, and resolving quality issues
• Thread inspection to API 5CT, 7-1 and other premium connections (VAM, Tenaris, JFE etc.)
COMMUNICATION
• Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external
• Communicates to supervisor inspection results when defects are discovered
FINANCIAL
• All employees have an accountability to the organization to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or simply their own expenses
• Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and procedure

Experience & Education
REQUIRED
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• Diploma in Mechanical engineering or Industrial trade certificate
• 3-5 years minimum experience in oil & gas products inspection
PREFERRED
• Certified ASNT (American Society for non-destructive testing) level -2 at least 2 NDE methods (LPT & MPT)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
REQUIRED
• Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office software at a minimum
• Communicating effectively verbally and in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Ability to use standard measuring equipment
• Ability to interpret quality control specifications and schematics or drawings
• Ability to identify problems and work on a systematic approach to solve those problems with employees and management
• Proven history of understanding industry safety standards and quality expectations
