Position Title: Assoc/Operations/Sr Operations Support Tech

Location: Des Moines, IA, United States

Description:
The Operations Support Technician position supports clients of the MidAmerican systems, specifically rugged tablets and laptops used in field environment that utilize LAN, WiFi, and cellular connectivity including hardware/software setup and support, configuration and troubleshooting of network and cellular connections.

Responsibilities:
Under direct supervision, provide accurate, timely, and known solutions to end user rugged tablets/laptops and networking problems of basic to moderately complex nature to ensure end-user productivity.

Perform restorative and maintenance actions either remotely or at the end user's location to resolve problems using basic troubleshooting and technical skills. Respond to situations where standard procedures to resolve software or network problems.

Maintain accurate information and data regarding end-user issues within the tracking system and according to policies and standards.

Establish a working relationship and understanding of dedicated support area to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with clients and management.

Consult with other information technology personnel to coordinate activities related to testing and implementing new technology

Perform other tasks as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience. (Typically, two years of additional related progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree)

A minimum of 1 year experience of end-user support experience in a client/server, network, mainframe and applications environment for the Associate Operations Support Tech.

3+ years experience in end-user support experience in a client/server, network, mainframe and applications environment for the Operations Support Tech.

5+ years of experience in end-user support in a client/server, network, mainframe, and applications environment for the Sr Operations Support Tech.

Hands-on experience in a technical support role that includes some desktop PC support responsibilities.

Ability to troubleshoot desktop device conflicts, connectivity issues, and application issues in a Windows operating system.

Ability to organize and perform multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, including communicating instructions and information clearly, concisely, and accurately, as well as convey information through both formal and informal documents.

Ability to work well independently and with others.

A+ Certification preferred.

Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
