Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a full time Ordnance Handling Equipment/Material Handling Equipment Support Technician (Engineering Technician II) in San Diego, CA.
Job Summary: Under direct supervision this position will assist in providing technical assistance, for the assessment, inspection, repair, overhaul, and weight testing of shipboard hoist, Ordnance Handling Equipment (OHE), and Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in the receipt, assessment and verification of equipment delivered by ships force.
Assist in the maintenance, repair, and/or overhaul, weight test and certification of various types of OHE/MHE to include but not limited to:
Dollies/Hand Trucks
Adapters/Beams/Carriers/Strong backs
Slings/Pendants
Pallet Trucks
Manual, Ratchet, Pneumatic, and Electric Chain Hoists up to 12 Ton
Assist in requests for shipboard technical assistance, and under direct supervision make necessary adjustments to handling equipment in support of testing and certification of ship's systems.
Assist in the turnover of equipment to ships force upon completion of work.
Operate motor vehicles – shop truck for the transport of items to/from on base corrosion control shop, to include shop forklift.
Maintain shop cleanliness and organization.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years' military or general experience in a respective trade with hands on experience repairing and/or maintaining mechanical systems and components.
Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
Ability to follow direction.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to comprehend technical manuals and drawings.
Effective oral and written communication
Basic organizational skills
Possess a valid driver license
Ability to obtain and maintain a base credential (DBIDS).
ADA Notations:
Ability to work in confined spaces of small craft
Requires walking, reaching, sitting and concentration in the presence of occasional noise
Ability to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders or stairways (onboard ships)
Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs in weight
Office, warehouse, pier side, shipboard
Noise conditions range from very quiet to loud
