Overview

Sev1Tech is seeking a skilled Software Tester to join our team supporting our DoD customer’s software functionality, reliability, and requirements satisfaction. The successful candidate will work closely with the development team to understand the project’s objectives and requirements and design test cases. They will be responsible for assessing software quality through manual and automated testing and identify and report on any failures.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans for software applications, identify and document defects, and work with the development team to resolve issues.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define and validate software requirements, functional specifications, and user stories.
  • Utilize common CI/CD software testing tools such as Selenium, Nightwatch, Cypress, or GitLab to assist in the testing process.
  • Develop and maintain test cases and test scripts and execute them through automated testing tools as needed for unit, integration, functional, 508, performance and security testing.
  • Test software applications across multiple devices and platforms, including mobile and web, and ensure each application meets its design requirements.
  • Perform regression, smoke, and exploratory testing to ensure any bug fixes do not break existing functionality.
  • Collaborate with the development team to review and update software documentation, including test plans, test cases, and user manuals.
  • Analyze and report overall test coverage and quality metrics, including identification of opportunities for process improvement.
  • Keep up-to-date with evolving testing procedures, tools, and methodologies to incorporate and continuously improve testing protocols.


Responsibilities

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Administration, Computer Applications, Computer Forensics, Computer Graphics, Computer Sciences, Computer Information Systems, Computer Network Systems, Cyber Security, Engineering (Note: All various engineering degrees), English, Education, Information Assurance, Information Management, Information Systems, Information Security, Information Technology, Journalism, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Military Art and Science, Network and Communications Management, Psychology (NOTE: acceptable only if degree included courses in “Human Systems Interface (HSI)” and “Human Factors Engineering (HFE)”), Physics, Physical Sciences, Quality Assurance, Sciences, Statistics, Software Development, Systems Administration, Technical Writing or Technology. Working towards the following certifications within one and a half year after assuming duties: CompTIA Security+ ce, CompTIA A+ ce, CompTIA Network+ ce, Certified Authorization Professional (CAP),Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), Information Systems Security Architecture Professional (CISSP-ISSAP), Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (CISSP-ISSEP), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), Professional Software Engineering Master (PSEM), Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) or with COR approval complete a vendor/platform specific certification: Microsoft, Java, Adobe Sun, Red Hat, CISCO, Oracle or other information technology software application development certifications.

Experience: Six (6) years of experience in the area of information technology, software engineering and application software development for C4ISR systems or other federal agency IT Systems to include: Technology Analysis and Assessment, Requirements Definition, Design Definition, Development of Systems Specification, Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Software Development, Verification and Validation, Writing technical documentation, procedures and/or guidelines, Training, Systems/Equipment Integration, Production Release or Installation. This individual shall specify required experience through training and work. Note: Experience may be concurrent.

Secret Security Clearance is a must.



Qualifications



  • Experience with Jira as a Scrum management tool.
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is highly desirable.
