Your Role:

Tetra Tech, Inc. specializes in recovering communities after being significantly impacted by disasters or weather events. We are currently hiring for Land Surveyor to help survey hazardous trees.

Employees in this position are expected to be able to climb and hike in the mountains to survey for hazartdous trees. Additional duties may include the "on-site" monitoring for the removal, and possibly, disposal of disaster-generated debris. You may also be assigned to observe disaster debris as it is loaded into hauling vehicles and document required information using an electronic device. This position involves only monitoring of the cleanup.

This position is for immediate work, with no physical labor, and no experience required because training will be provided to you. We are looking for self-motivated, responsible, dedicated individuals with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision. • Ability and comfort with climbing and hiking in the mountains.
• Will be surveying land for hazardous trees
• Monitor and observe all loading activities of trucks, bobcats, front-end loaders, or other vehicles as instructed by the supervisor.
• Confirm that the hauling contractors are loading only eligible storm-related debris on public rights-of-way or property and that they are not going on to private property to collect debris.
• Make sure contractors pick up all eligible debris and clear branches and other debris off the roadway and private driveways before moving on.
• Ensuring that debris cleanup complies with federal regulations
• Understand daily responsibilities set by the supervisor and project manager
• Brief Supervisor on the day's activities, debris collection progress, issues, or problems.
• Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
• Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
• Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
• Additional duties as required.

Job Requirements:

• Have a valid driver's license

• Possess an insured reliable and dependable vehicle for following trucks. Must be available for all-day use

Ability and comfort with climbing and hiking in the mountains.

Ability to communicate with others clearly

• Must meet driving record qualifications and pass a successful MVR check.

• Ability to work on weekends.

• Ability to work for long periods of time. Roughly 10-12 hours a day.

• Ability to use a smartphone

• Provide valid I9 documentation identifications

• Good teamwork and cooperation skills

• Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods

NO HOUSING OR RELOCATION WILL BE PROVIDED.

It is understood that your employment is to be on an "at will" basis. This position with Tetra Tech is temporary and on an "as-needed" basis and will end once the project is complete.
