Job Description:

INIT Innovations in Transportation, Inc. is a leading provider of Intelligent Transportation Systems for public transportation.  As a turnkey supplier, INIT develops, produces, installs, and maintains integrated hardware and software solutions for all keys tasks required by transportation authorities. 

We are currently looking for a Shipping and Receiving Associate I to join our Logistics Team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Keeping an inventory of all merchandise entering or exiting the warehouse.


• Identifying any missing, lost or damaged materials and immediately notifying the supervisor.


• Ensuring that all the merchandise is safely and securely packed and labeled for shipping.


• Managing all merchandise with appropriate care.


• Assist with training newly employed workers.


• Scanning labels to ensure products are shipped to the right destination.


• Parts picking for production and repair including transfer journals.


• Inventory control (including weekly cycle counts and organization).


• Delivery notification after parts are produced (packing slips to KA and Inc).


• Return of unused SMD parts back to the warehouse including transfer journals.

Skills and Competencies:

• 0-2 years of warehouse job experience.


• Strong interpersonal skills to work with team members, clients and suppliers.


• Negotiation skills to work with suppliers and make better deals for the company.


• An understanding of purchase order software platforms.


• Good attention to detail to ensure all purchase orders are accurate.

Physical Skills:

• Required to lift up to 50 lbs.


• The work will require you to position yourself regularly to be stationary for 50% of your workday, and ascend/descend stairs, and kneel and/or squatting underneath for the remainder of your workday.


• Must have a valid Driver’s License.


• Exposed to work environments that may contain dirt and dust.

Education:

• High School Diploma required.


• Graduate of a polytechnic/technical college or technical degree preferred.

Work Location: This position will be based at our North American corporate headquarters located in Chesapeake, Virginia.
