Within the Gowda lab, the researcher will perform microbial cultivation of both model organisms and environmental isolates; perform microbiological research using molecular techniques, including single-cell transcriptomics, ribosome profiling, and next-generation sequencing library preparation; Assist PI in development of new research techniques to be used in the lab by all members; assist and oversee the development and implementation of research projects related to microbial environmental isolates that will lead to necessary research outcomes to aid in data collection; assist with data organization; assist with data preparation for publication and the creation and submission of related publications; assist with lab ordering and organization; assist in training students. Opportunities will be available to train in advanced techniques such as single-cell transcriptomics through existing collaborations with other research groups.
Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Biological Science or related discipline. One year of relevant experience.
Desired: Master's degree or equivalent experience in Biological Science or related discipline. Experience with the quantitative analysis of data preferred but not required.

The pay range for this job profile is $43,900 - $57,500. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
