The Simulation Technician is vital in supporting simulation courses and events at OSU/CHS. This role involves preparing simulation laboratories for various activities, which requires moving throughout the department, including the hospital simulation center, clinical skills lab, and clinical examination rooms. Key responsibilities include maintaining an inventory of laboratory items and performing equipment inspections. The technician assists in setting up simulation events, facilitating activities, managing equipment and supplies during the events, and ensuring proper cleanup afterward. Effective communication with faculty, students, external clients, and vendors is crucial for this position. Additionally, the technician operates computerized manikins to create simulation experiences, adjusting vital signs and physical findings as necessary. This role also involves operating cameras and audio-visual equipment. Furthermore, the technician helps with departmental cleaning, laundry, and organizing supplies and equipment, with travel between campuses as needed for specific events.
Environmental Hazards:
Possible exposure to hazardous material, hot and cold, blood bornepathogens.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry 8-10 pounds, stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger,grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with or withoutreasonable accommodations

-High School Diploma or GED
-Certificate of completion in technical training or equivalent
-BLS certified or BLS Instructor certified or equivalent
-Valid Driver's License
