The Associate Quality Services Specialist will perform functions in support of the Quality Management System by collaborating with internal and external partners. This person will provide key support in the areas of internal and external audits, customer complaint management, training, and document and data management.
Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinate and conduct internal site audits against GFSI and customer requirements
Schedule 2 nd and 3 rd party audits in consultation with site QA Managers and participate in audits as needed
Conduct internal audits at company-owned storage locations
Manage quality systems scheduling program to insure monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks and inspections are completed per the established schedule
Coordinate and submit corrective action responses for all external audits
Collects and maintains customer quality & food safety expectation manuals and ensures QA department staff have knowledge of changes
Serves as Document Control coordinator by monitoring document expirations and working with document owners on reviews, revisions, and approvals
Manage customer complaint data, including tracking, investigations, and response; engages site QA teams as needed for root cause and corrective action development
Tracks, trends, and reports on supplier quality performance
Reviews and approves new supplier quality documentation
Reviews quality assurance records for accuracy and completeness
Develops and/or updates food safety and quality training documents; assesses new training courses and makes recommendations
Serve as back-up to Quality Services Specialist for export documentation
Performs other functions as assigned
R equirements:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related technical field
1 - 3 years related work experience in quality assurance or in a laboratory environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
